Noboleis Vineyards hosts blind wine tasting event Oct. 25

The Augusta winery compares local and international wines

Wine connoisseurs are in for a rare opportunity to explore how local Missouri wines stack up against global varieties at the upcoming Noboleis vs. The World event. Hosted by Noboleis Vineyards, this special blind tasting will take place on Friday, Oct. 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at their scenic vineyard and tasting room located at 100 Hemsath Road in Augusta.

Noboleis vs. The World invites guests to engage their senses as they compare wines from Noboleis’ own vineyards with selections from notable wine-producing regions around the world. Sponsored by Spirit Wine & Craft, the event will feature a lineup of eight wines: four top-selling selections from Noboleis and four comparable wines from renowned wine regions around the world including Italy, the Pacific Northwest, France and Germany.

Each tasting will be conducted blind ensuring that tasters rely purely on their senses of taste and smell. “By pulling away the ability to see the labels and the locations they've come from, it allows you to make an unbiased opinion,” shared Tricia Newbold, marketing director for Noboleis. “It's always really unique for us to see how we compare and how our guests and customers feel we compare to other areas.”

This event provides a unique chance for guests to refine their personal taste in wine. As participants sample a diverse range of selections, they can uncover what truly resonates with their palate. “The great thing about this, and the world of wine in general, is that it's super subjective. Anything that you enjoy is what you enjoy,” explained Meagan Holtmann, events and wine club manager. “Everyone can be successful in this world because there are so many different wine drinkers out there.” Ultimately, this gathering highlights the richness of Missouri’s wine scene, encouraging attendees to embrace new flavors and enhance their appreciation for the art of winemaking.

Founded in 2005, Noboleis Vineyards is a proud female- and family-owned winery located in the heart of Missouri's wine country, and it was the first in the nation to be designated as an American Viticultural Area (AVA). Known for its diverse portfolio of over 30 locally crafted wines, Noboleis also offers Swirl, an innovative line of canned wines that reflects the vineyard’s dedication to creativity and growth. Events like this showcase Noboleis’ commitment to proving that Missouri wines can proudly compete with the best in the industry.
