Truck Norris food truck is opening a brick-and-mortar location in Ellisville

Truck Norris Twisted Eats will feature a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating and the food truck’s popular Tot-Chos

Food truck owner and operator Todd Norris has signed a lease for a brick-and-mortar location at 15856 Clayton Road in Ellisville in the former home of Alibi 25 sports bar. Norris is behind Truck Norris, a food truck that he started in 2017 that offers a twist on comfort foods, a Sauce Food Truck Friday regular for the past several years.

The 2,600-square-foot establishment, which will be called Truck Norris Twisted Eats, will feature a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and the food truck’s most popular item – Tot-Chos – will feature heavily on the menu.

“This new venture is pretty exciting,” Norris said. “We are taking a ton of elements from the truck and it’s going to be inside the restaurant.”

Since the opening is currently looking like it will happen in either December 2024 or early 2025, Norris said the menu is still being finalized, but the plan is to have all the favorite Tot-Chos flavors on the menu. The food truck’s most popular menu item starts with a base of crispy tater tots that are topped with proteins, cheese and sauces and are available in flavors that play on items like gyro, buffalo chicken and Nashville hot chicken, to name a few. Also making its way to the brick-and-mortar menu will be sandwiches like the Chicken McFly, plus an appetizer selection and some kids meals.

As for the bar menu, Norris said the establishment will stick with simple offerings at first before expanding to a wider selection of what he calls “fun drinks.” Guests will be able to find beer, wine, cocktails and seltzers when Truck Norris Twisted Eats opens.

The eatery will have seating for around 100 inside, as well as a few tables in front for outdoor seating. Norris promises that anyone dining inside will have a selection of TVs to catch their favorite sporting events, as well as an atmosphere that lends itself to fun.

“I want [guests] to always have something to watch and talk about. I’m trying to create a space where people want to hang out, have some Tot-Chos in a fun ambiance and spend time with their friends.”

And in terms of the decor, Norris said a replica of the front of his food truck coming out of one of the eatery’s walls will be one of the restaurant’s larger design elements. The color scheme will mirror the Truck Norris branding of blue and yellow, and Norris’s love of movies and pop culture may show up in the form of parody movie posters lining the walls.

When it comes to the future of the food truck, Norris plans to keep it operating, but said the truck will likely stick to private and food truck-focused events.
