8 St. Louis spots to spritz it up at this week

Celebrate National Spritz Day on August 1 and beyond

August 1 is National Spritz Day and we’re raising our glasses to celebrate. Whether you’re whipping up your own or leaving the whipping up to the professionals, we strongly recommend taking any excuse for a summer patio sesh sipping this bubbly, versatile beverage. Here are our top picks for St. Louis spots to spritz it up this week and beyond.

Bacaro + Noto
Bacaro, the new cicchetti and aperitivo bar from the team behind Noto Italian Restaurant, are throwing the can’t-miss National Spritz Day party. Order special drink and snack menu items from 4 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, August 1. We’re going straight for the show-stopping Aperol Tower because, obviously. There’s also an ultimate spritz stack tower of assorted cicchetti for the professional snackers, featuring anchovy uovo, tuna stuffed peppers, olives, taralli, and potato chips. In addition to the regular spritz menu, you can create your own by selecting from a list of aperitivos like Pilla Select (similar to Campari) or Italicus (flavored with bergamot), to name a few.

Salve Osteria + Natasha’s Gin Room
Honestly, everyday is Spritz Day at
Salve Osteria. Sister bar The Gin Room is more concerned with Amari Week, a full roster of events celebrating the Italian herbal liqueur that serves as a crucial ingredient for many a spritz. But you can stop by Salve anytime for an experience that blows other St. Louis bars out of the water with bespoke cart service. Your server will guide your selection of a base spirit. Based on your preferences, they’ll offer a few different options and help you pick the right one for your tastes, building a custom drink exactly to your mood. If you take a fancy to something, most of the bottles on the cart are available just a few doors down at Grand Spirits Bottle Co. For those preferring to keep it simple, just show up for $9 spritzes at their “Recess” happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
