Tower Grove Farmers’ Market makes indoor winter market weekly

Changes are coming to the Tower Grove Farmers’ Market. Its winter market, which offers fresh winter produce like apples, carrots, squash and sweet potatoes, will now take place weekly and is moving to the Koken Art Factory at 2500 Ohio Ave. The winter market hours will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning Dec. 7 and ending April 4, 2020.

Co-founder Patrick Horine said the change in venue is due to wanting more space for vendors and people in the community to socialize. “We had room for vendors, but we didn’t have space for the community to hang out and drink their coffee,” he said.

With the Winter Market moving in a bigger venue, it will be able to double its number of vendors (from 30 to 60), including Kuva Coffee, Bridge Bread Bakery, Clean Plate Pantry and more.

Holiday Markets will be hosted at the art factory on Dec. 7, 14 and 21 so shoppers can stock up on gifts and goods just in time for the holiday season. These events will host more than 50 local vendors.

“We’ve had to turn away so many vendors in the past so the fact that we’ll be able to accommodate so many more is a huge deal for us,” Horine said.

Tower Grove Farmers’ Market also recently took over operations at the Ferguson Farmers Market. The two will be working on Ferguson’s own winter market and other operations in 2020.
