West End Grill & Pub will reopen in mid-April
After a brief closure, West End Grill & Pub at 354 N. Boyle Ave., will reopen on Friday, April 12.
The restaurant originally shuttered in January in advance of an expected sale. However, according to co-owner William Roth, that deal fell through.
“So we started shutting things down,” Roth said. “Then a group of neighbors came and asked us ‘What can we do?’”
Roth and fellow co-owner Neill Costello began a series of Sunday meetings with the group, who became investors in the restaurant, and a plan emerged to reopen WEGAP.
Roth said the new incarnation of the restaurant will focus on what made it a popular spot in the first place – solid food offerings and an inviting vibe. He said the menu will bring back many favorites from the past, including the much-loved mussels.
Initially WEGAP will be open for dinner service at 5 p.m. along with a daily happy hour from 3 to 7 p.m. Roth said brunch and lunch service may return later.
