First Look: Peel Wood Fired Pizza in Clayton
Peel Wood Fired Pizza will soon serve its signature pies, brews and then some on the Missouri side of the river. The newest location is set to debut Monday, July 16, at 208 S. Meramec Ave., in Clayton.
Like the Illinois locations in O’Fallon and Edwardsville, the focus at the Clayton Peel is pizza baked in wood-fired ovens, including more than 20 specific pies and a build-your-own option.
But there’s more to be had at Peel than just pizza. The menu has plenty of other options, including a selection of shared plates, soups, salads, wings, paellas, sandwiches and desserts. The kitchen also makes its own bread.
In addition to its signature pizzas, Peel brews its own beers. The new location will have 10 taps dedicated to house beers, plus an additional 26 for other brews.
The Clayton Peel Wood Fired Pizza is housed in a sprawling space that seats 280 across multiple dining areas, including some prime counter seats in front of the open kitchen and its three wood burning ovens. Despite the size of the interior and the soaring ceilings, the vibe is decidedly cozy thanks to an array of colors and textures that range from rustic to modern.
The new Peel will be open daily: Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There are also happy hour specials weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close.
