Art Outside Festival returns to Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood this weekend

The free, family-friendly event features more than 60 local artists, live music, plus food and drink

The annual Schlafly Art Outside Festival returns to Schlafly Bottleworks at 7260 Southwest Ave. in Maplewood this weekend, taking place from Friday, Sept. 6, to Sunday, Sept. 8.

The free, family-friendly event features more than 60 local artists selling their works, such as paintings, photography, ceramics, woodworking and more, along with a stacked lineup of live music all weekend long. Expect bands such as Grooveliner, Adam Maness Trio, Dawn Weber & The Boogaloo Crew and many more. An abbreviated version of Schlafly’s restaurant will be available for purchase, along with plenty of festival foods available for this event only.

“We started Art Outside to be an alternative art fair, which highlighted local artists’ incredible talents and allowed attendees to be able to purchase their work at affordable prices. We wanted to lean into that alternative experience more this year with interactive art experiences in a family-friendly environment.  There’s more to explore than ever at Art Outside this year,” CEO David Schlafly said in a release. “I am very proud to be a part of the Maplewood community, and Art Outside showcases what makes our community great – music, art and great beer.”

New highlights of this year’s event include live glass-blowing and painting demonstrations. You’ll also be able to check out tarot card readers, face painting, a henna artist and more, although some of these additional activities do cost to participate.

Festival hours will be 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
