Proof: Eckert’s Farm’s annual Sunflower Farm Experience returns this Thursday, July 25, to Sunday, Aug. 2. Head to the Belleville farm at 951 S. Green Mount Road in Belleville to experience a 2-acre field of 5-foot high sunflowers that are just as available for selfies as they are for cut-your-own flowers.
The field is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and visitors can also hit up Eckert’s other pick-your-own experiences. Right now, peaches, a selection of veggies and blackberries are in season. Tickets are $8 during the week and $10 on the weekend. Littles under the age of 2 can get in for free.
On Thursdays, Eckert’s is hosting a Sunflowers at Sunset event from 6 to 9 p.m. Visitors can enjoy a free signature cocktail from the Cider Shed as well as a tractor ride to the sunflower field. Reservations are required, and tickets cost $30 to this 21-and-over event.
Finally, on Saturday Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Eckert’s will hold the Sunflower Festival, which includes a sunflower mini photo session with Sierra Oetjen Photography from 10 a.m to 2 p.m., face painting, themed cocktails and coffee from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and more. For $125, you can get a sunflower photoshoot and high-resolution photos for a group of six people.
