You can buy a St. Louis pizzeria on Facebook Marketplace

Breaking news in the cheese, dough and sauce sector

Pizza is as St. Louis as the Mississippi River or pronouncing French words the right way. And St. Louis-style pizza is a bona fide culinary treasure in these parts. So it’s probably the secret dream of many a St. Louisan to own their own pizzeria.

If that sounds about right, we have the opportunity for you. Right now, you can buy your very own St. Louis pizzeria via the source of all the best deals out there – Facebook Marketplace

Last week, a listing for a South County pizzeria for sale popped up for a cool $79,000. The description included of the “used - like new” restaurant is brief but evocative.

“Decades old Pizzeria for sale. Over $50k in equipment. $350k+ revenue. $79,000 obo.”

Sauce reached out to the lister, Blake Agniel, whose Facebook profile describes him as the owner of Stogies Liquor & Tavern in Greenview, Missouri. However, we did not hear back by publication time and a call to the aforementioned liquor store resulted only in learning that its voicemail was full.

Several members of the Pizza Connoisseurs of St. Louis Facebook group speculated that the restaurant for sale was the Cecil Whittaker's at Lemay Ferry and Forder roads. A search online reveals that there is indeed a Cecil Whittakers for sale in South St. Louis County, but it is more than $100,000 more expensive.

So the mystery continues. This is a developing story, obviously, and we’ll update it as we learn more details.
