3 Juneteenth celebrations to check out in St. Louis this week

In the three years since Juneteenth was declared a national holiday, festivals commemorating the 1865 emancipation of enslaved people, are increasing both in number and size. Here are a few Juneteenth celebrations to check out this week.

Dellwood Juneteenth Festival 
The Dellwood Parade is part of the inaugural North STL County Juneteenth Celebration. Aimed at honoring the cultural contributions of the Black community, the event includes a youth play land and a fireworks show, as well as food vendors TBD.

4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration with Old North STL
Enjoy a day filled with music, food and community presented by Community Wellness Project. This event celebrates Juneteenth with fun activities for everyone. RSVP requested online.

Juneteenth Black-Owned Business Market
Downtown Summer Nights presents a special Juneteenth vendor market, highlighting Black-owned businesses and celebrating African American freedom and culture. Grab dinner from one of the many area restaurants, then enjoy live music by Stazi throughout the evening.
