Pint Size Bakery & Coffee will be under new ownership by beginning of July

Change is in the air at Pint Size Bakery & Coffee, where co-owners Nancy Boehm, Christy Augustin and Matt Augustin have just announced plans to sell the bakery at 3133 Watson Road in Lindenwood Park to new owners by the beginning of July. The bakery will be sold to pastry chefs Alexis Pereira (a former Pint Size employee) and Emma Hankins.

Pereira and Hankins had been developing a separate direct-to-consumer concept, Bedeviled Bakery, and had alluded to plans for a brick-and-mortar bakery in social media posts. However, when the opportunity to take ownership of Pint Size presented itself, Hankins described the decision as a “no-brainer.” In a statement, she described the respect she and Pereira have for what Nancy Boehm and Christy Augustin have built at Pint Size, and said they are “excited to carry on the tradition of small batch from scratch.”

Pereira said she is honored to be carrying on the Pint Size legacy. “I have so much love for Nancy, Christy and the beautiful bakery they have built,” she said. “I know it’s comforting to them to know they are leaving their staff, customers and recipes in caring hands.”

Christy Augustin said that passing the torch to bakers like Pereira and Hankin is a dream come true. “We had always hoped that our passion for baking the old-fashioned way, plus our love of cookies, coffee and community would be something that new owners would be interested in carrying on into the future, but to know that Pint Size will be in the hands of these two talented women is so exciting!” she said.

Boehm thanked the local community for “supporting our dream over the past 12 years” and called on Pint Size customers to rally around the new owners. “We’re positive that St. Louis will continue to support this little bakery well into the future,” she said. “We can’t wait to see all the new things that Emma and Alexis have in store!”

Pint Size originally opened in 2012 in a spot next to Pietro’s, before moving to its current location at 3133 Watson Road in 2016. Follow the bakery on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates as Pereira and Hankins take the reins.
