6 St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in St. Louis where you can avoid the Dogtown crowd

This St. Patrick’s Day, Dogtown doesn’t get to have all the fun. Other places in and around the city are kicking up their heels as well. And it’ll be another whole year before green eggs and beer are on the menu again. Get them while they’re hot, and (with any luck) cold.

Irish Fest at Public School House
Public School House dons its leprechaun boots and will host an “over the top” Irish-themed, pop-up bar of signature cocktails and live music. Sugarfire Smokehouse will provide the food. RSVP requested online.

Join the throng when the “Arsenal of Entertainment” hosts its St. Patrick’s Day Fest. Expect emerald beers, a live DJ, costume contests, giveaways, and food and drink specials. Tickets available online.

Love in the Lou at Llywelyn’s
The Welsh pub opens its doors to Love in the Lou’s St. Patrick’s Day Party. Enjoy music, dancing and drinks; and maybe even find a little love. Admission for members of the professional matchmaking business is free, but the event is open to nonmembers for $15.

The Scottish Arms
The Scottish pub recently has been doing “industry” dinners for colleagues in the restaurant business on Sundays, but to celebrate Celtic kinship, the Scottish pub will open to the general public and serve a special limited menu of corned beef, cabbage and potatoes with “tons of butter,” as well as staples like fish and chips.
