Twisted Ranch has moved from Soulard to the Central West End in St. Louis
After almost eight years in Soulard, Twisted Ranch moved to 14 Maryland Plaza in the Central West End earlier this spring. The new location offers more seating, two bars and a bigger kitchen.
Known for its dozens of various flavors of ranch, the restaurant offers an assortment of food items, including hot wings, loaded tots, salads, burgers, flatbreads, sandwiches, pastas and appetizers. There’s also a full bar with an array of cocktails, beer and wine. Although the menu will largely remain the same, new cocktails, ranch flavors and food items are expected in the near future.
Previously, Twisted Ranch moved between two locations in Soulard due to their need for facility improvements. The first (1730 S. Eighth St.) was used for three years and had only 35 seats and less than 1,000 square feet, while the second (1731 S. Seventh St.) was used for five years and was about 4,000 square feet with 150 seats. Now, they have 7,500 square feet and about 250 seats, as well as air conditioning in the kitchen. “We did not before, which made it really hard to keep kitchen staff in the summer,” said Chad Allen, a co-founder of Twisted Ranch. The Central West End location will offer sidewalk seating after the city approves their permit.
Twisted Ranch does not offer online ordering currently, but Allen explained he plans to use this service in the future. “We’re still in our soft opening … working on increasing our staff, getting the patio set up, things like that,” he said.
After getting accustomed to its Central West End location, Twisted Ranch hopes to increase its number of restaurants and grow its brand. Allen said they had been working toward franchising pre-pandemic and that plan had to be put on hold but will hopefully gain traction again soon. Four of the brand’s ranch flavors are available at Walmarts across the country, and the owners hope to expand those offerings. The restaurant is currently working on creating new ranch flavors as well.
Twisted Ranch is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. On Sunday, the restaurant closes at 5 p.m.
