First Look: Good Buddy’s Tasty Soups & Sandwiches downtown
Good Buddy’s Tasty Soups & Sandwiches officially opens for business today, June 22, at 1115 W. Pine St., serving up lunchtime fare for downtown denizens.
As Sauce reported in April, co-owners Justin Gibson and brothers Nathan and Luke Ragain partnered to open the shop. The menu boasts a tight selection of soups and sandwiches, like the Chicago Beef with roast beef, au jus and roasted peppers, and the Goodfella, chock full of cured meats, provel and topped with a cherry pepper relish and olive tapenade. There is also an assortment of sides and salads on the list as well.
The Good Buddy’s interior combines industrial and rustic elements like exposed pipes, distressed corrugated metal panels on the walls and a front counter clad in rough wood with the restaurant logo branded into the front. There are seats for approximately 25 along two counters along a side wall and the front window along with a couple of community tables. A handful of seats and a couple of tables out front accommodate al fresco fans.
Good Buddy’s is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take a look at downtown’s latest lunch destination:
