4 deals for $10 or less at Good Fortune, Olive & Oak and more

1. May is the perfect time to try Good Fortune in Botanical Heights. This month, the new American-Chinese venue debuts a budget-friendly Ten Dollar Takeout menu, where everything is $10 or less. Choose from some regular menu items or new specials that change every week like dumplings or crab Rangoon.

2. Warm weather is made for burgers and beers, and Stacked STL has some serious summer eats. The Carondelet restaurant offers a different burger-of-the-month special – but don’t eat alone. On Mondays, visit with a friend and split the bill for buy one, get one $5 off. May’s burger of the month, On Greener Pastors, is an 8-ounce house-braised pork patty that features pineapple pico de gallo, salsa verde on a brioche bun.

3. La Tia & Pancho’s Cantina & Grill on Main Street in downtown St. Charles has an amazing deal for taco lovers. Every Tuesday, stop-in for lunch and fill up on $1 tacos and 12-ounce lime margaritas for $3. It also has a great patio for soaking in the sunshine and taking in some riverside views.

4. Happy hour at Olive & Oak is short-lived but don’t let that stop you from visiting. Offered only Sundays through Thursdays, sneak a seat at the bar between 4 and 6 p.m. and enjoy a handful of signature items, all less than $7. Sample the smoky, sweet onion potato chips or dig in to half-shell, bluepoint oysters. My money is on the O&O single burger, a griddled beef patty with pickles, American cheese – and maybe a fried egg for another $2.
