The Scoop: Jim Edmonds' 15 becomes The Precinct on Oct. 14

100713_15precint   Doors will reopen next week at 1900 Locust St. Jim Edmonds' 15, which closed at the end of August, has been re-concepted as The Precinct, a police-themed bar and grill that hopes to cater to cops' taste buds once the Metropolitan Police Department headquarters is relocated to nearby 1915 Olive St. The Precinct’s menu, developed by chef Andrew Shrensker (previously executive chef at Jim Edmonds' 15 Steakhouse), is divided into appetizers; soups and salads; sandwiches, burgers and dogs; and entrees. T-ravs, cheese sticks, fish and chips, chili and roast beef sandwiches are just a few of the usual suspects served up at the bar and grill. But look also for officer-themed offerings like The Billy Club, a sandwich of roasted turkey, applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and onion, and the Hot Pursuit Challenge: one pound of wings and two draft beers (Finish the wings in eight minutes, and you get them free, along with a T-shirt and your mug shot on the wall.). Dessert? Warm doughnuts, of course. Guests can enjoy this classic cop food surrounded by black-and-white photos of St. Louis police scenes from decades past. The Precinct will open for business Oct. 14 and will operate from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. As part of its mission to support area first responders, The Precinct will donate a portion of its proceeds to The Backstoppers, a nonprofit organization that assists families of fallen police officers and firefighters.
