4 Hands Brewing Co. will open a Chesterfield location in summer 2023

4 Hands Brewing Co. will open a new location at The District at 17057 N. Outer 40 Road in Chesterfield in summer 2023. The 10,000-square-foot bar, the brewery’s second location, will feature a kitchen operated by Hi-Pointe Drive-In.

The Chesterfield location will have 25 drinks on draft, including seasonal beers from 4 Hands in addition to its year-round offerings. The bar will also offer drinks from 4 Hands’ other product lines, including its hard seltzers, cocktails made using 1220 Spirits products and Withered Oak whiskey. “Our goal is to highlight our entire portfolio at the Chesterfield location,” said 4 Hands owner Kevin Lemp via text message.

Lemp also confirmed that the new location will not include a brewing facility. Instead, 4 Hands plans to expand both its brewing and distilling operations at its La Salle Park location near downtown St. Louis.

Cannon Design has created the design for the space, which includes an open-plan layout with long tables and light wood finishes. “We are looking at 400-plus capacity with a fantastic private event space,” Lemp said via text. “Our design aesthetic is more modern here. We had a huge space to work with and wanted to use this opportunity to build a modern, open space for guests to enjoy. It's going to be big and vibrant.”

The venue will also feature a family-friendly arcade area, which customers can use free of charge. The patio at 4 Hands Chesterfield will be adjacent to The Hub, The District’s outdoor gathering space. The Hub is currently under construction, with developer The Staenberg Group targeting a spring launch date for the $4 million project. Among the attractions at The Hub will be a pavilion, LED screen and stage. A number of other restaurants are expected to join 4 Hands and Hi-Pointe to boost The Hub’s hospitality presence. The District is also home to Topgolf, live music venue The Factory and other entertainment destinations.

“I’m excited to expand westward not only because The Staenberg Group is creating a one-of-a-kind, family-friendly experience in Chesterfield, but also because I grew up in the area and it feels good to open a location back in my childhood neighborhood. While we remain hyper passionate and committed to the city of St. Louis, this opportunity fits perfectly with our growth strategy,” Lemp said in a statement.

“We're excited to bring the Hi-Pointe energy to Chesterfield,” Hi-Pointe co-owner Ben Hillman said in a statement. “We’ve been collaborating with Kevin and the 4 Hands team since we started Hi-Pointe and we’re ready to take the partnership to the next level in a shared space. Chesterfield should get ready for some crazy specials paired with the best beer in St. Louis.”

"4 Hands is a staple in the St. Louis community and we are thrilled for their expansion to The District," said a statement from Michael Staenberg, president of The Staenberg Group. “A key component to what we are hoping to create at The District, specifically as it relates to The Hub, is to pull our St. Louis favorites all together in one place.”

Chesterfield isn’t the only new development 4 Hands has in the pipeline. Plans were announced in February 2022 for a new taproom at 150 W. Argonne Drive in Kirkwood, to be shared with Peacemaker Lobster & Crab Co. “We are committed to Kirkwood and have been working diligently over the last year to have a 2023 opening,” Lemp said.
