2021 DANO KOREAN SPRING FESTIVAL

DanO 2021 will be celebrated virtually in partnership with the Saint Louis Art Museum (SLAM) as the Gateway Korea Foundation (GKF) has done each year since the first DanO festival.
The virtual festival will have four programs throughout June 14th to June 19th.
• Monday, June 14th (7 pm) Opening Ceremony with an original cartoon animation telling the story and a celebratory dance performance
• Wednesday, June 16th (7 pm) Jumeoni (embroidered drawstring pouches) making demonstration by Artist Youngmin Lee of San Francisco
• Friday, June 18th (7 pm) Lecture by Lee Talbot, curator of The Textile Museum: Textiles and women’s culture in Joseon dynasty Korea
• Saturday, June 19th (7 pm) Cross-cultural panel discussion: Youngmin Lee, Lee Talbot, and Edna Patterson-Petty, a textile artist specializing in African American textile arts, will host a cross cultural panel discussion via Zoom. Registration is required.
