Several area spots are giving discounts to educators, students and parents to celebrate back-to-school season

After taking the summer off, it can take students, and parents, a while to get back into the school groove. Luckily, there are a number of St. Louis area businesses offering discounts and promotions to help families and school staff transition into the new school year.

Teacher Appreciation Month at Kingside Diner and Herbie’s
To recognize the hard work and dedication of educators, and to help ease the transition back to school, Kingside Diner and Herbie’s are offering all school faculty a 50% discount (excluding alcohol) throughout the month of September at Kingside Diner’s locations in the Central West End, Clayton and Delmar Loop, and at Herbie’s in Clayton. Educator’s Discount at Blueprint Coffee
Blueprint Coffee is offering 10% off at all of its coffee bars for all educators and school employees until Sunday, Aug. 25. Guests must show their staff ID to their barista to receive the discount.

Back to School Specials at Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton
Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton is offering some back-to-school specials for parents, students and educators alike. The hotel restaurant and coffee bar, Cafe la Vie, has partnered with Eckert’s Farm to create an Apple Brulee Caramel (ABC) Latte to benefit Operation Food Search through Monday, Sept. 30. A portion of proceeds from every ABC Latte sold will be donated to Operation Backpack, an initiative from Operation Food Search that provides weekly sacks of kid-friendly, shelf-stable food to students.

An additional offer at the cafe is aimed at couples who wish to treat themselves to an evening out after a busy week by enjoying a complimentary pre-dinner cocktail when dining at Café la Vie. With a minimum spend of $100, diners will receive two complimentary cocktails (one per person) during their meal during the month of August.

Grace Meat + Three Free Kid’s Milkshake
Counter service restaurant Grace Meat + Three announced in a Facebook post that students can get a free kid’s milkshake if they show their back-to-school supply list during the month of August. The lists can be printed or digital, but must show the school attending and list of supplies.

Beginning Saturday, Aug. 31, and running through Monday, Sept. 2, teachers and all school staff will receive 20% off Pick-Your-Own Apple purchase at Eckert’s Belleville location when they present a school ID.
