Thai Pavilion inside Friendly's Sports Bar in south St. Louis County will close later this month

The Thai Pavilion restaurant inside Friendly's Sports Bar at 3971 Bayless Ave. announced in a Facebook post on Oct. 21 that it would be closing for the foreseeable future after Nov. 15.

“Thai Pavilion is closing because we just didn’t take off the way we needed to,” wrote co-owner Brandon Reiser in a message about his experience running Thai Pavilion with fellow co-owner Darun Reiser. “My husband, [Darun], the chef, put his heart and soul into this restaurant, and I couldn’t bear to see him sitting sad with no orders on a Friday at 5 anymore.”

While the Facebook post announced that Thai Pavilion would be closing, the opportunity was brought up “to [reopen] in a new location with the help of any investors.” As of now, though, Thai Pavilion has not found any investors or found the right location for a new spot, according to Brandon.

“We appreciate and truly love every customer who [has] ever tried our food,” said Brandon of the support for Thai Pavilion. “I will do everything in my power to keep my husband’s dream alive, but unfortunately, at this moment … it’s not just up to me.”

Thai Pavilion is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. through Nov. 15.
