Mac’s Local Eats, Bluewood Brewing: it's complicated

Update, Jul. 29, 4:25 p.m.: In a Jul. 29 Facebook post, Mac's Local Eats disputed the claim that they would cease operations after Aug. 3. "We are actively looking for a larger location as we continue to grow, but we do NOT plan to cease operations after August 3rd," the post reads in part. Read the complete statement here

Yesterday, Tuesday, July 27, Bluewood Brewing announced via Facebook that popular burger joint Mac’s Local Eats would be leaving the space in the brewery that it’s occupied for just under two years. “Mac’s Local Eats will no longer be operating out of Bluewood Brewing after August 3, 2021,” the message said. “We sincerely wish for the best for Mac’s Local Eats’ employees as they have continually served their customers with exceptional service. As such Bluewood Brewing will be closed this week for maintenance and some reorganization of our space.”

Mac’s opened in 2017, originally operating out of Tamm Avenue Bar. In 2019 it left to take up occupancy in the larger space offered by Bluewood. The restaurant has yet to say when or whether it will reopen in a new space. Bluewood Brewing declined to comment, and Mac’s owner Chris “Mac” McKenzie was unable to be reached for comment.
