11 ways to ring in the New Year in St. Louis

Though New Year’s Eve celebrations may look different this year, these local restaurants are bringing the party home with some tasty food and drinks. As we look forward to 2021 and leave this crazy year behind us, these curated New Year’s Eve packages are guaranteed to start the new year off right. (And below the following to-go options are even a few in-person events.)

Blood & Sand is offering a New Year’s Eve curbside celebration with dinner options for two or four people as well as Champagne pairings and complimentary glasses. Prices for curbside dinner range from $170 to $280, and Champagne ranges from $110 to $140. Brennan’s Booze & Snacks has put together New Year’s Eve party boxes guaranteed to get any party started this year. There are five options for curated party boxes, ranging from $95 to $1,000, filled with cocktail kits, snacks like chocolate and charcuterie, bottles of wines and spirits and more. Drunken Fish has sushi platters and cocktails, paired with cupcakes from The Cup and added party favors like noisemakers and necklaces. A Sushi 101 platter is offered at $109 and includes classic fan favorites, and the Signature Roll platter is offered at $119 with best-selling signature rolls. Grace Meat + Three is ringing in 2021 with a New Year’s Eve Package and New Year’s Day Good Luck Plate. The New Year’s Eve Package is $70 and includes St. Louis-style ribs, garlic-buffalo wings and queso dip that feeds three to six guests. The New Year’s Day Good Luck Plate for $16 is a part of the New Year’s Day Hangover Cure, and includes Rick’s famous fried chicken, cornbread, Hoppin’ John (an andouille sausage, black-eyed peas and rice dish) and collard greens. Preorders for the New Year’s Eve Package can be made online through Dec. 30 with pickup from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 31. Kimchi Guys is offering Korean fried chicken packages and festive cocktail kits. There are three versions offered each for $119: one with wings, another with tenders and one with sliders. The package comes with a Korean 75 cocktail kit including gin, lemon juice, ginger, and simple syrup. Mission Taco Joint knows the drill. To make Jan. 1 a little easier, there’s a New Year’s Day Home Hangover Kit that includes ingredients as well as instructions for assembling chilaquiles and Bloody Marias, as well as mini bacon-taco poppers for the Bloody Marias. The entire hangover kit is $45, though individual orders for chilaquiles are $20 and Bloody Marias are $30. The kits are now available for preorder online until Dec. 29 at 8 p.m. with pickup on Dec. 31 at any Mission location.

If you would rather hit the town for your New Year's Eve celebration, and want a safe, socially distanced option this year, these five restaurants are offering dine-in dinner and drinks. 

Bengelina Hospitality Group has special offerings at Elaia and Olio, as well as Nixta. For three nights (Dec. 31 to Jan. 2) each spot has dinner and drinks until 11 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person for Elaia, $45 per reservation for Olio, and $65 per person for Nixta. Reservations can be made on-site or by phone. Brett Hull’s Junction House has curated a four-course New Year’s Eve dinner to celebrate the start of 2021 at the recently opened restaurant. Cinder House at the Four Seasons St. Louis is offering a four-course dinner inspired by a different South American country for each course, including octopus, Wagyu steak and more. Urban Chestnut Brewing Co. is celebrating the end of 2020 with a three-course dinner and optional beer pairing on New Year’s Eve at the Grove location.
