Café Madeleine will close, reconcept at Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park

Café Madeleine at the Piper Palm House at Tower Grove Park will soon close and regroup. Tower Grove Park, which owns Piper Palm House, announced on social media Monday, Sept. 30 the Sunday brunch concept, which has been run by Butler’s Pantry, will cease brunch service at the end of this year. The last day of service will be Sunday, Dec. 1.

In a Facebook message, Butler’s Pantry president Richard Nix Jr. explained the reason for ending the partnership:

“While being a part of the Tower Grove Park family has meant so much to us, we find that our expanding horizons have necessitated that we step back from Café Madeleine. We know that the team at Tower Grove Park has planned for a smooth transition at Piper Palm House and visitors will have a great experience.”

Liz Hickox, director of community programs for Tower Grove Park, said Café Madeleine will return in the spring of 2020 in a new incarnation, though she said it’s still up in the air whether or not the park will manage the concept or will seek another outside partner. She said the days and hours of operation may expand as well, though the name will remain the same.

“We’re exploring options,” Hickox said. “It will definitely reopen.”
