Owner Derek Schulze closes Red Oak Biscuits, Fried
Red Oak Biscuits and its sister restaurant, Fried, have closed doors for good on Cherokee Street and Washington Avenue, respectively. Owner Derek Schulze announced both restaurants’ closures on Facebook today, July 3.

Schulze did not return request for comment.
Schulze opened Red Oak at 1330 Washington Ave. in July 2017 before relocating the eatery to Cherokee Street in November 2018 to make way for Fried. The fried food-focused eatery opened doors just a little more than two months ago on April 12.
In late 2018, Schulze announced plans to open two more restaurants, Beef Bar and Homestead, in 2019. There is no word on if he plans to continue with those concepts.
