Breakaway Café will open for breakfast to help Goody Goody Diner staff

A neighboring business is offering to lend a hand to the Goody Goody Diner team after the 70-year-old eatery suffered major damage after an electrical fire on Monday, April 22.

The Breakaway Café owner Matt Quinlisk said starting Monday, April 29, his restaurant  will open for breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. to offer Goody Goody kitchen and waitstaff employment while the diner is closed for repairs.

“I’ve lived in Normandy almost all of my life, and Goody Goody is a staple. It’s so important. It’s an anchor for the community,” said Quinlisk, who bought Breakaway Cafe in February. “If I can help them out I want to. They’re great people.”

Quinlisk said he’s currently working with Goody Goody kitchen staff to prepare some popular dishes from the breakfast menu.
