Layla will open a second location in Webster Groves
Layla is getting ready to expand from The Grove to Webster Groves.
As reported by St. Louis Magazine, the restaurant will soon open a second location at 20 Allen Ave., No.130, formerly Milagro Modern Mexican.
Layla executive chef and co-owner Jason Sparks said the lease was signed last week on the space, and he expects to have the doors open sometime in January 2019.
“Webster was at the top of a very short list of where we wanted to do a second Layla,” Sparks said. “We think it’ll be a great place to strengthen the brand.”
Sparks said Layla fans will still be able to find their favorites at the new spot, along with a few location-specific items.
“It’s going to be 80- or 90 percent the same menu,” he said. “We plan to stick to our roots and what we do.”

He said the Layla menu went through a revamp several weeks ago and now features even more vegetarian options along with some new signature burgers, which he expects to be help the restaurant gain a foothold in the area.
“As far as the gourmet burger game with tons of options, we don’t have a lot of competition,” Sparks said.
One change diners can expect will be the bar program. He said the Webster Layla will have a different cocktail menu and have a heavier emphasis on wine.
Because the space is essentially turnkey, Sparks said the only work to be done is cosmetic. He said he’s already accepting applications for employment.
